The Challenge with Video and Podcasting Today

These days, everybody wants compelling video and podcasting, and there are a million great stories to be told. But in a world saturated with media of all types, producing content people will actually watch and listen to isn’t as easy it sounds. And many of the prevailing assumptions and strategies miss the mark. Tried and true production conventions often don’t play well in the digital realm. At the same time, high-gloss CGI and other newly-minted video and audio production techniques may get a user to click, but often don’t hold people’s attention or succeed in cultivating an audience that will come back for more.

As a result, too many organizations with important stories to tell are spending a lot on production that is either outdated, or has a sheen of innovation but lacks the fundamentals of storytelling and editorial clarity that compel audiences to tune in and keep watching or listening.
