About Bill Smee

Bill Smee is a multiple Emmy-winning producer and executive with a long track record of designing successful strategies, developing and creating innovative content, and managing operations. He has overseen and produced distinctive high-profile video and audio journalism from short-form to documentary for digital platforms, television, and radio at a series of major media outlets, including: CNN, Discovery and The New York Times, Slate, NBC News, Audacy, Mashable, and The HuffPost. Over three decades, he has directed top network talent, launched new ventures, built teams from scratch and garnered a long list of major awards as a producer and executive.

In addition to journalism and media companies, Smee has worked with mission-oriented organizations seeking compelling video and audio content. Clients have included: American University, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, New America, Partnership for a Healthier America, DC Bilingual School, and The Conversation.

Smee is a graduate of Yale University and lives in Washington, DC.
